USAID Supports 65 Motorbikes to PLHIV Clusters

Through HEBU TUYAJENGE (HT) Project funded by USAID, 65 Motorcycle were distributed to Clusters of People Living with HIV in Tanzania mainland in order to facilitate project implementation. The Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office- responsible for people living with disabilities, Hon. Ummy Nderiananga officially inaugurated motorcycle hand over in Dodoma on 8th of September 2021.

These motorcycles were registered and distributed to Council and under directives that the Clusters are to ensure they are used to support planned project activities as per objectives. The motorcycles were handed over to the Chairperson of the Cluster, to be used by focal person. CHAC (Council HIV/AIDS Coordinator) and DAC (District AIDS Coordinator) participated in the handover as a witness and representatives of the Government from the council where the cluster belong.

The motorcycles are a means to primarily address the challenge of data collection and also reaching intended project beneficiaries in inaccessible areas where up to now, it has been difficult to get the information and data. During the second year of HT project NACOPHA decided to procure one motorcycle for each council to solve transportation problems for focal persons particularly collecting data from clusters.

Distribution took place at zone level namely Dodoma, Mwanza, Mbeya, and Dar es Salaam, in Clusters which implements the HT project.
