Over 500 Students Empowered in HIV Literacy

In line with the directives of Her Excellency President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, NACOPHA, through the USAID Hebu Tuyajenge Project, in collaboration with the universities of SUA, Mzumbe etc , organized a symposium to educate higher education students on HIV response.

The symposium was led by a representative from the Office of the Regional Medical Officer of Morogoro and attended by a representative from the DED Morogoro MC, TACAIDS, university lecturers, USAID Afya Yangu, Konga, university students, and youth, along with journalists.

In addition to providing education on the state of HIV infections among youth, there was a panel discussion involving students, lecturers, healthcare providers, and young people living with HIV (YLHIV). The discussions covered cross-cutting issues related to youth and HIV.

Various services, including HIV testing, condom distribution, and TB screening, were provided through the collaboration of the DMO’s office, USAID Afya Yangu, and Konga.
